Salt Spray Chambers (Constasal® SC)

Salt Spray Chambers (Constasal® SC)

This series comprises manually operated cabinet units of type M-SC for carrying out salt spray tests.

S 400 M-SC / S 1000 M-SC / S 2000 M-SC Cabinet units with 400/1000/2000 litres test chamber volume without ventilation.

For performing the following tests e.g.: DIN EN ISO 9227, ASTM B 117, ASTM B 368, MIL STD 202 F-101D, MIL STD 810E Meth. 509.3 and other tests

This system consists of:

  • indirectly heated test room with electronic temperature control
  • one or more two-component nozzle(s)
  • Stock depot for test solutions
  • Level vessel for the test solution supply (alternatively: dosing pump)
  • Compressed air humidifier system with automatic water supply

With the help of a dual-stist substance nozzle, a NaCl solution is sprayed in the test chamber. Humidified compressed air – demineralized water is used for this – sucks in the test solution from a level vessel. The fine spray mist is evenly distributed in the chamber.

About DIN EN ISO 9227 (formerly DIN 50021):

This standard describes the spraying of a saline solution in the chamber at 35°C or 50°C chamber temperature. The NaCl solution can be added with acetic acid and copper chloride to further tighten the mechanisms of action in the generation of corrosion. The fine salt mist is reflected on the samples and allows them to corrode. An acid test solution ensures a further acceleration of the reaction.
