The autofrettage system is made up of two subassemblies that are integrated to create a single compact rig. One side of the rig holds the electric control cabinet and the hydraulic intensifier, or pressure generation system. The other half is intended to serve as a testing area. The chamber has an automated door in front of it, and the component may be seen through a safety lens in the protective door.
This rig is extremely safe since the protective door is locked and set to remain closed during the autofrettage procedure.
