Thermotron is the only company that offers complete HALT /HASS solutions using LN2 or combination of mechanical refrigeration and LN2. Mechanical refrigeration may be the logical choice for installations where the infrastructure for liquid nitrogen is not yet established or the sites does not permit.

Transition rates such as 50°C per minute is achievable using mechanical refrigeration, dependent on the range of temperature and product loading. For faster transition rates and to attain ultimate low temperatures down to -100°C, a liquid nitrogen injection system with necessary safety systems can be added.

HALT/HASS with mechanical refrigeration or in conjunction with LN2 is an economical choice and better on ROI compared to an exclusive LN2 based system since the former system may be used for regular environmental test when not in use for HALT/HASS purpose.
